About Richard Kevin

Never before we saw this handsome guy in our entertainment world, but now we found out Richard Kevin has got something special. Some says he is one of the most promising actors in Indonesia. Kevin or Kepeng, as his friends call him, actually came from a recognizable family that’s so close with showbiz world. His uncle and aunt are the famous senior actor and actress in Indonesia: Ari Wibowo and Ira Wibowo, while his cousin; Winky Wiryawan, is a famous DJ and actor as well, who have received several awards for his films. As a matter of fact, Kevin’s father runs his own production house.


However, it’s a little unusual that Kevin detested entertainment world in his younger age. Kevin refused so many modeling and acting offers because he was too shy, and he preferred traveling outside the country to join his favorite sport skateboarding competitions in Singapore, Malaysia, and New Zealand. Many people still don’t realize that Kevin was one of the best skaters Indonesia ever had and he has garnered around seven trophies from the competitions. Graduating from high school, Kevin left skateboarding, continued study in New Zealand and took information technology school.


Having graduated from the university and back to Indonesia, Kevin tried to come out of his shell and conquered himself. He started to receive some offers to be the model for several ads and music videos. He finally took an offer to play as supporting actor in ‘Cinta Pertama (First Love)’ in 2007 because his friend Bunga Citra Lestari asked him to play as her fiancé in the movie. ‘Cinta Pertama’ was commercially success, but Kevin’s name rocketed after he played in a comedy film ‘Get Married’ at the same year, as a handsome and wealthy man who drives Mae (Nirina Zubir) falls in love at first sight. In this movie Kevin proofs his acting skill is not just a game.


‘Get Married’ was well success and well praised by critics. The film bagged several awards including 9 nominations in Bandung Film Awards 2008. For this year Kevin has already finished 2 films ‘From Bandung With Love’ and ‘Lost in Love’, the sequel of blockbuster movie ‘Eiffel I’m in Love’. In ‘Lost in Love’ Kevin replaced the initial actor Samuel Rizal from ‘Eiffel I’m in Love’, and a lot of people said Kevin played it better than the original actor.


At the moment Kevin is starring a stripping religious sinetron with Nirina Zubir again. Besides working for IT and contractor companies, the young entrepreneur is establishing business lines including modeling management, event organizer, media, and production house as well.
